Footage of Fulham talent Fabio Carvalho finding the net during the club’s meeting with Manchester City on Saturday will no doubt pique the attentions of many a Liverpool supporter.

Carvalho and the Cottagers made the trip to the Etihad a short time ago, facing an uphill battle in an FA Cup 4th-round meeting with Premier League table-toppers Manchester City.

In the end, it came as little surprise when the Sky Blues ultimately ran out comfortable victors, to the tune of a 4-1 triumph.

With just four minutes on the clock in Manchester, however, it was in fact Fulham who opened the afternoon’s scoring.

After a fine ball over the top saw Harry Wilson set free down the right, the Welshman’s ensuing delivery across the face of goal was slotted home from close range by the aforementioned Carvalho:

For those not aware, Carvalho was widely expected to seal a move to the Premier League with Liverpool earlier this week.

In the hours leading up to Monday’s winter transfer deadline, word was forthcoming that a deal between the respective boards at Anfield and Craven Cottage had been struck over the Portuguese-born attacking sensation.

Carvalho, in turn, was expected to seal a move to Merseyside, before being immediately loaned back to Fulham.

In the end, however, the transfer ultimately fell through, due to the necessary paperwork not being signed and submitted in time.

Liverpool are therefore expected to return for the 19-year-old’s signature in the summer, with all associated with the Reds no doubt delighted with Carvalho’s latest efforts to prove that he is ready to cut it against England’s very best.
