Luis Diaz would make his Liverpool debut on Sunday afternoon.

The winger, signed from FC Porto at the end of January, came off the bench in the second half of Liverpool’s win over Cardiff.

The Colombian had an almost instant impact, pressing Cardiff’s defence before nicking the ball and slotting across goal for Takumi Minamino to tap in Liverpool’s second of the day:

Vs Cardiff, however, Diaz also looked to pick up an injury, going down in some pain.

Diaz was able to carry on after receiving treatment, but it was still no doubt concerning to Liverpool fans.

However, following the game, Jurgen Klopp eased injury fears surrounding Diaz, stating: “He has a cut and a bruise – everybody told him ‘welcome to England!’ but he is all good. All fine.”

Jurgen Klopp on Harvey Elliott

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp also spoke about Harvey Elliott post-match.

The teenager returned to action for Liverpool on Sunday for the first time since his injury vs Leeds in September, with Klopp having this to say on the youngster: “Harvey and the medical department did an incredible job.

“He is fearless. He dealt with his injury perfectly – he is back and it is really nice. The goal was a really touching moment. It’s cool.”
