Soon-to-be Arsenal star Matt Turner has taken to social media on Thursday, to celebrate his imminent move to north London.

Surprise links between the Gunners and shot-stopper Turner of course first came to the fore in the press late last month.

In fact, somewhat out of the blue, some outlets even went as far as to suggest that the transfer team at the Emirates had tabled a ‘strong bid’ for the reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.

Turner’s manager at the New England Revolution, in turn, went on to reveal ahead of the transfer deadline that his no.1 sealing a move to the Emirates in the summer had indeed emerged as a ‘strong’ possibility.

And now, Turner himself has confirmed that, as expected, he will soon be afforded the chance to pull on the famed colours of the Gunners.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Thursday evening, the 16-time capped United States international – expected to replace Bernd Leno as backup to Aaron Ramsdale in Mikel Arteta’s squad – unveiled a photo of himself sleeping in an Arsenal jersey as a youngster, accompanied by the caption:

‘Dream big little man, you never know how far it’ll take you’

Molineux showdown

Turning attentions away from the transfer market and back towards the pitch, Arsenal will of course kick their Premier League campaign back into gear in a little over an hour’s time.

The Gunners have made the trip to the west Midlands, for what, on paper, looks a tricky test against Bruno Lage’s stout Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mikel Arteta and co. will head into proceedings at Molineux no doubt desperate to take advantage of slip-ups on the part of both Manchester United and Tottenham already this week, aware that a victory would guide them to within a point of West Ham United in 4th.
