Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has provided an insight into his decision not to afford in-form attacker Michael Olise a start in the club’s latest outing on Saturday afternoon.
Vieira of course guided his troops back into action earlier today.
On the back of just a solitary victory from the club’s last four outings across all competitions, the Eagles made the trip to west London, for a meeting with Thomas Frank’s Brentford.
And, when all was said and done, Palace, once more, were forced to settle for less than three points, en route to a disappointing 0-0 stalemate.
The visitors did dominate when it came to possession at the Community Stadium, but ultimately fell short in their efforts to bag an all-important winner.
It ends goalless in West London.

Olise latest
The lack of cutting edge on display on Palace’s part on Saturday, as alluded to above, came with shining starlet Michael Olise having somewhat surprisingly been forced to make do with a spot on the bench in west London.
20-year-old Olise headed into the weekend having notched a goal and two assists across his last two outings in all competitions.
Speaking in his post-match press conference this evening, Patrick Vieira, in turn, was inevitably drawn on his in-form young attacker’s absence from the off.
Palace’s boss, though, was quick to ease any concerns, assuring that he was simply keen to hand Olise some much-needed rest, ahead of a predictably tough test against Brentford:
Vieira on dropping Olise. “He started two games. I just wanted to bring some fresh legs because I knew how hard and difficult it would be and how hard the front players needed to work. With Jordan’s experience, it’s one of the reasons why I made that decision.” #CPFC
