Ralf Rangnick has reportedly identified RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku as a key summer target for the Red Devils as they look to overhaul their ageing and bloated squad.

Manchester United’s chances of taking fourth spot took and that final qualification spot for Champions League football took another hit as they dropped points at home to Southampton.

It is Manchester United’s third 1-1 draw in a row, and their second in the Premier League, a result that leaves them in fifth place, just one point clear of Arsenal having played two games more than the Gunners.

Change is desperately needed at Old Trafford, and there will be plenty of it come the summer, which Nkunku could be a part of.

Who is Christophrer Nkunku?

A Frenchman written off by Paris Saint Germain and overlooked by Arsenal, 24-year-old Nkunku has found his new home in Germany with RB Leipzig.

Joining in the summer of 2019, his game has shot up to another level so far this campaign, with the French star having scored 11 and assisted 9 in the Bundesliga for the Bulls.

As per ESPN, the form of the Frenchman has not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United weighing up a summer move.

Able to operate on either flank or centrally, Nkunku has also shown his ability on the top stage, netting 7 goals in 6 Champions League games, including a hat-trick against Manchester City the first time the sides met in their group.

It is unclear where he would play for the Red Devils should a deal be agreed, with Jadon Sancho already occupying one wing and Bruno Fernandes operating centrally. However, if they could find a way to fit him in, he could prove a brilliant addition.
