Injury has hit Manchester United shortly before their meeting with Brighton on Tuesday evening.
Manchester United would release their starting line-up an hour before kick-off on Tuesday.
The eleven was pretty standard but it did see Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford drop to the bench in place of Anthony Elanga and Fred, decisions Ralf Rangnick explained before the match:
Rangnick: “(The changes) was about fresh legs, Anthony Elanga did well until the last two games he did not start in.
“Paul Pogba came back after his long term injury and Fred is fully back in training so I decided to go with that.” #MUFC— Shamoon Hafez (@ShamoonHafez) February 15, 2022
Elsewhere, though, Manchester United have now been forced into a further change.
Raphael Varane was initially expected to partner Harry Maguire in defence vs the Seagulls.
However, as confirmed by Manchester United, the Frenchman has pulled out of Tuesday’s starting line-up due to illness.
It is added that Victor Lindelof will replace him in the starting XI, and Tom Heaton will be the addition to United’s bench:

Manchester United’s awful defence
Varane’s withdrawal will come as a huge blow to Manchester United.
Their defence has looked very shaky of late, with David de Gea and Varane, to a lesser extent than the Spaniard, the only bright spots.
And with Varane now out, it is very hard to see United keeping a clean sheet against Brighton, even if Graham Potter’s side do struggle to score goals.
