Pep Guardiola has been speaking about Liverpool following Manchester City’s latest Champions League win.

Man City began their Champions League knockout journey with an away outing against Sporting on Tuesday the 15th of February.

Pep Guardiola’s side would dominate the match and eventually came away with a 5-0 win, all but confirming their spot in the quarter-finals.

The Sky Blues would open the scoring on the day after just seven minutes via Riyad Mahrez. This was followed by Bernardo Silva scoring a brilliant half-volley 10 minutes later:

Man City were not done there, though. Phil Foden made it 3-0 to City 32 minutes into the game before Silva added his second and City’s 4th after 44 minutes.

The goals then dried up somewhat in the second half, with Raheem Sterling adding Manchester City’s 5th and final goal of the day shortly before the hour mark.

The Spaniard then continued to speak about Liverpool, claiming the Reds are City’s biggest rivals and are a fantastic team in Europe: “They are six points behind us. Liverpool [have been] our biggest rivals over the last seasons, they are always there.

“A pain in the a** all of the time. They are a fantastic team in Europe.”

“Just take a look – PSG today, they played really well against Real Madrid.

“Inter Milan, Liverpool, Man United are in this competition.”
