Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have sprung a surprise in their team selection for the home clash with relegation-threatened Norwich.
The Reds, having played in midweek, have named a strong side against the Canaries, but Trent Alexander-Arnold’s name was a glaring omission, with Andy Robertson also dropped to the bench.
Firmino is out with a muscle injury that is being assessed.

No reason has been given for Alexander-Arnold’s absence, which perhaps suggests that it is as much to give him a rest as anything else, after he was given a torrid time against Inter’s Ivan Perisic in midweek.
Liverpool on course for success?
Liverpool sit 9 points adrift of top spot side Manchester City in the Premier League, albeit with a game in hand, but Jurgen Klopp is refusing to give up on challenging them for the title all the way just yet.
‘We fight with the best team for a long time in City – and a lot of other really good teams who are close to that – for success, the German told The Independent.
‘We need the quality we have for that. If we didn’t have the quality we couldn’t be near.’
And, having taken a firm hold of their Champions League tie, Klopp believes that his side can continue to fight on all fronts.
‘We know the potential we have is a fact, the quality we make of it is unsure because it is not always the same, but the fight we have to put in is always at 100 per cent’, the Liverpool boss added.
Of course, Liverpool face Chelsea in the League Cup final at the end of the month, with a chance to lift their first trophy of the campaign and deny the Blues their third.
Whether their fight will result in success come the end of the season remains to be seen, but while Manchester City seem unstoppable in the Premier League, the Reds could experience success in the domestic and continental trophies.
