Footage stemming from the clash between the United States women’s team and their New Zealand equivalents has gone altogether viral online this evening, owing to the nightmare first-half endured by the latter’s Meikayla Moore.

The two nations went head-to-head a short time ago in Los Angeles, in a SheBelieves Cup group stage clash.

The United states, when all was said and done, unsurprisingly emerged triumphant, courtesy of a dominant 5-0 final scoreline.

The efforts of Vlatko Andonovski’s troops, though, as hinted at above, were aided in no small part by a historically woeful day’s work on the part of New Zealand’s Meikayla Moore.

Remarkably, across the opening 36 minutes of proceedings at The Dignity Health Sports Park, defender Moore netted not one, not two, but three own goals.

Not only that, but the Liverpool women’s star managed to do so courtesy of a ‘perfect’ hat-trick, in the form of one with her left foot, with with her right, and one with her head.

Moore was unsurprisingly hooked from proceedings a short time later, but her day to forget in California, unfortunately for the 25-year-old, looks set to live long in the memory:

Reds shining

Whilst her endeavours on the international stage may not be going according to plan at present, back on the domestic front, Moore is part of a Liverpool squad currently in the midst of a fine campaign.

Across 15 FA Women’s Super League 2 outings, the Reds have racked up 12 wins, whilst slipping to just a solitary defeat.

Such form sees the Merseyside outfit sitting pretty atop the table, a full ten points clear of London City in 2nd, and looking well on course to seal a return to the top-flight come the conclusion of the term.
