Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva has sent a message to the club after Emile Smith Rowe’s goal vs Brentford.

Arsenal would face off with Brentford on Saturday afternoon, looking to close the gap between themselves and the top-four.

And, when the 90 minutes were up, goals from Saka and Smith Rowe proved enough to guide Arsenal to three points, and ensure that Christian Norgaard’s 93rd-minute strike stood as little more than a consolation.

On the back of the game coming to a close, it was revealed that Smith Rowe had scored Arsenal’s 600th goal at the Emirates.

The Gunners confirmed this via Twitter in a post that also showed who had scored Arsenal’s 100th, 200th, 300th, 400th and 500th goal at their current home.

Arsenal, however, did not mention who scored their very first goal at the Emirates. But Gilberto Silva was on hand to remind everyone that it was him, tweeting Arsenal the following: “But who started it with the first goal?”

Gilberto Silva praises Partey

On the same day, Silva would be asked about Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.

And the Brazilian was quick to praise the former Atletico Madrid man. When asked how good is Thomas Partey, Silva stated: “Very good, I really like him”

High praise from a midfielder who was an integral part of Arsenal’s Invincibles season.
