Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has, on Monday, provided an update on the fitness of both Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
Klopp’s comments of course come on the back of his two key attackers being forced to sit out on Saturday, as the Reds made short work of Norwich City to keep their Premier League title hopes alive.
Liverpool instead depended on the trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and January arrival Luis Diaz, all of whom found the net en route to a 3-1 final scoreline.

Whether either Jota or Firmino could yet return to feature against Chelsea in the finale of the League Cup this weekend, though, remains unclear.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com on Monday, Jurgen Klopp was drawn on the wellbeing of his sidelined duo, ahead of a first shot at silverware for the Merseyside giants in 2021/22 on Sunday evening.
But the German remained non-committal on the subject, simply confirming that, at present, it is ‘too early’ to say:
“I don’t even know if it will be a late decision or not; how I said, it’s too early. I saw them both today, they both look great – but those two always look great.
“We have to see how the specific issues develop but we obviously will try everything.”
We are still waiting to see if Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota can be involved at Wembley but ‘will try everything’, said Jürgen Klopp ⬇️

Leeds test
Based on Klopp’s latest comments, it is therefore safe to assume that both Jota and Firmino have already been ruled out of Liverpool’s next outing.
This comes with the Reds actually set to return to Premier League action on Wednesday night, ahead of their ensuing cup showdown with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
On the back of a potentially crucial swing in their favour in the race for the English top-flight title this past weekend, Liverpool will welcome relegation-battling Leeds United to Anfield, no doubt confident in their chances of bagging a 6th-straight three-point haul.
