Tottenham fans let out a collective groan as Harry Kane limped off the pitch after scoring twice to help them to a famous win over Manchester City at the Etihad, but can now breathe a sigh of relief.

This comes as Antonio Conte has revealed that the forward will definitely play against Burnley, which severely improves their chances of getting any sort of result at Turf Moor.

‘Harry had a hit on his back but he has to play’, Conte said. Even if he has one leg, he has to play (laughs). He is good. Harry knows his importance to the team.’

Asked about further injuries, Conte revealed that no change had happened since their win at the Etihad, saying:

‘[Oliver] Skipp and [Japhet] Tanganga, they are recovering’, he told the media.

‘They’re not ready, they’re still not ready for the game against Burnley. Sergio [Reguilon], in the training session yesterday he wasn’t present and we’ll see today. I think the situation is the same after the last game. We hope they can all recover soon.’

Burnley to provide stiff test

Although still in the relegation zone, the addition of Wout Weghorst to Burnley has breathed fresh air into Sean Dyche’s side, recording an impressive 3-0 win over Brighton at the weekend and holding Manchester United to a draw a fortnight ago.

It will be the first time the sides have met, with both games having had to be rescheduled due to COVID outbreaks in each camp, and Spurs know that six points from the fixtures could go a long way to making the top 4 come May.
