Joan Laporta, president of Spanish giants Barcelona, has on Monday provided a fresh insight into the future of Ousmane Dembele.

The subject of wide-man Dembele’s future at the Camp Nou, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines once more over the course of recent weeks.

This comes with the French international, long expected to bring an end to the disappointing Blaugrana chapter of his career upon the expiration of his contract in the summer, having reestablished himself as an important member of the first-team setup in Catalunya.

Dembele’s latest head-turning display came just last night, when, after being introduced off the bench during Barca’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club, the 24-year-old played a direct hand in no fewer than three goals, including the wonderful left-footed strike showcased below:

In turn, speaking to Cadena Ser on Monday evening, it came as little surprise when Blaugrana president Joan Laporta was once more drawn on the future of the club’s soon-to-be free agent attacker.

And Laporta went on to assure that all at the club have ‘always wanted him to stay’, amid ‘hope’ that Dembele will ultimately change his stance and opt to stay put:

Kessie incoming?

Whilst speculation continues to swirl around the possibility of one potential free agent exit from the Camp Nou, if the latest word in the media is anything to go by, then another contract rebel could in fact be lining out in the colours of the Catalans for the 2022/23 campaign.

The player in question? Franck Kessie.

As per a report from Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio late on Monday, those in a position of power at Barca have stepped up their pursuit of midfielder Kessie ahead of the summer.

A contract proposal, worth a rumoured 6.5 million euros-per-year, in turn, has been tabled to the Ivorian, amid mounting speculation that Kessie will indeed pull on the famed Blaugrana red and blue from next season and beyond.
