Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has taken to social media on Monday, to send a message of support to teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The name of shot-stopper Kepa, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the English football headlines over the course of the last 24 hours.

Unfortunately for the Spanish international, though, this has come for all the wrong reasons.

After proceedings in the Carabao Cup finale were sent to a penalty shootout owing to a 120-minute stalemate between Chelsea and Liverpool, Kepa was introduced off the bench by Thomas Tuchel, owing to his reputation for spot-kick heroics.

The move, however, ultimately backfired in spectacular fashion, as, after failing to keep out any of Liverpool’s first ten penalties, Kepa blazed his own effort over the crossbar, in the process handing the first piece of silverware of the English football calendar to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds:

The shot-stopper, in turn, took to his personal social media platforms late on Sunday, to reveal his disappointment with the outcome of the Wembley showpiece, and thank the Chelsea faithful for their support in his moment of need.

And now, as alluded to above, Blues teammate Thiago Silva has unveiled his response to Kepa’s tweet, as showcased below:

Reds jubilant

Whilst Chelsea continue to mull over exactly what could have been in the capital on Sunday evening, over on the Liverpool side of things, the atmosphere, understandably, is of a considerably more joyous nature.

A series of videos have come to the fore online over the course of the last 24 hours, showcasing the celebrations amongst Jurgen Klopp’s ranks, as Liverpool’s hopes of a historic quadruple, heading into the season’s closing months, remain very much alive:
