Arsenal youngster Gabriel Martinelli has, on Friday, spoken out over his future in north London, reiterating his commitment to the Gunners cause in the process.

Brazilian wide-man Martinelli has of course continued to build on his reputation as something of a fan favourite at the Emirates across the campaign to date.

After working his way back into the first-team plans of boss Mikel Arteta, the 20-year-old has since established himself as one quarter of what many of an Arsenal persuasion view as the club’s next great up-and-coming frontline, alongside Martin Odegaard and Hale End pair Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

In turn, attentions were always likely to be piqued when Martinelli, previously linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, was today drawn on his plans moving forward.

If the Brazilian’s ensuing insight into his future proved anything to go by, though, then those of an Arsenal persuasion need not fret when it comes to the possibility of losing their gifted young attacker any time soon.

This comes with Martinelli having confirmed his intention to remain with the Gunners for the remainder of his career, in pursuit of the game’s biggest titles:

“We have a young group, we have a lot of time ahead of us, players with a lot of quality, I think we will achieve great things,” the former Ituano man explained during an interview with ESPN Brasil. Our focus is the Champions League. Fighting for that top four. A club like Arsenal has to be in the Champions League. It’s our total focus.”

“We always want more. Of course, Arsenal are a giant team. If I can, I’ll stay here my whole life. I want to conquer things, as I said, I want to stay here and win titles, with these wonderful fans, my teammates.”

Turning attentions back towards the immediate road ahead, Martinelli will no doubt be hopeful of making a telling impact once more this weekend.

This comes with Arsenal set to return to action in a Premier League meeting with Watford on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s troops head into proceedings aware that nothing but a 3-point haul will suffice, having guided themselves into pole position in the race for 4th in the English top-flight over the last couple of weeks.
