Mikel Arteta has been speaking to the media ahead of Arsenal’s meeting with Watford.

The Gunners are set to face off with Watford in a Premier League clash on Sunday

Ahead of the tie Arteta discussed a number of topics including team news, with the Spaniard confirming Takehiro Tomiyasu remains a doubt:

“Same place as last week,” Arteta said when discussing team news. “We still have the doubt with Tomiyasu, the rest I think they’re all there.”

Arteta was also asked about Arsenal being favourites for the top-four, to which he responded: “I think it’s positive because that’s where we want to be playing. The reality is we are not fourth but sixth still. We know what we have to do and the only aim is to win against Watford.”

Watford vs Arsenal

Arsenal head into the weekend’s action on a solid run of form which has seen them win three on the bounce.

In turn, Arsenal have managed to secure 6th place whilst putting a lot of pressure on the teams around them.

The north Londoners are currently level on points with West Ham in 5th and just two points behind Manchester United who currently occupy the final Champions League place.

Arsenal, though, have three games in hand on the aforementioned sides, meaning just one win from three would see Arsenal move up to 4th and two within two points of Chelsea.

As for Watford, they are currently 19th in the Premier League and three points behind 17th place Everton, who have two games in hand on the Hornets.
