Thiago Silva has responded to a picture of Romelu Lukaku’s disallowed goal from the League Cup final.

The 2022 League Cup final played out last weekend and saw Chelsea and Liverpool, who had won a combined 13 League Cups before this weekend, clash at Wembley.

Liverpool headed into the tie as favourites and, when all was said and done, did emerge with the win.

However, Chelsea had a number of chances which they squandered or were ruled out for offside – including the aforementioned Romelu Lukaku goal which really did not look offside at all.

In the end, though, it would be penalties that decided the shootout. Kepa Arrizabalaga, something of a penalty specialist, came on late in extra time for the shootout. However, we did not save a single one of Liverpool’s eleven penalties before then smashing his effort over the bar to hand Liverpool the victory.

Thiago Silva responds to Romelu Lukaku’s offside goal

Now, as mentioned above, Silva has responded to a picture of Lukaku’s disallowed goal.

Regardless, Thiago Silva also seemingly did not believe the goal was offside, simply commenting two laughing face emojis on a picture of the ‘offside’:
