Paris Saint Germain fans have been handed fresh hope as Kylian Mbappe has been named in the PSG squad for their trip to the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

Parisians feared the worst when it emerged that a tackle by Idrissa Gana Gueye (shown below) in training on Monday had left their star man a significant doubt for the return leg of their Champions League clash, in which they hold a 1-0 lead thanks to Mbappe.

The game, of course, has wider connotations, with Real Madrid and PSG currently in a tug-of-war over where the future of the Frenchman lies. While it is widely expected that Mbappe joins Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer, the French side are doing their utmost to keep him, and his strike is currently sending them through at the expense of his potential new club.

Better still, he will have the chance to add to his tally for the tie, as he was pictured walking onto the plane with his other teammates to head to Spain for the clash.

And, included in the squad list for the tie, it seems unthinkable that he does not at least play some part in the affair. He was forced to watch on as his side were knocked out by Manchester City last campaign, and will be desperate not to have a repeat performance against Los Blancos.
