Antonio Conte has issued a worrying injury update on a pair of Spurs players ahead of their trip to Old Trafford as they look to climb above Manchester United in the race for a top 4 spot come the end of the season.
The Italian revealed that he doesn’t know when Oliver Skipp will return to p[laying football, having missed the last two months with a seemingly innocuous groin injury that has failed to recover in the expected timeframe.
‘For sure I am worried because he started with a groin pain and then we are talking about two months that he [Skipp] is out’, he said ahead of the Manchester United clash.
‘I don’t have so many midfielders, there is Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Skipp and Winks, to miss for a lot of time is not simple and I have to hope not to have an injury for our midfielders. It happened, Bentancur had problems and we only had two midfielders. This is a problem, I am a bit worried, in my mind, in the mind of my players, there is the desire to come back very soon. In this moment, if you ask me a forecast about his return, I don’t have an answer.’

Sessegnon also picks up injury
Worse still, Antonio Conte revealed that Sessegnon picked up an injury during their 5-0 demolition of Everton. The English wing-back was replaced by Sergio Reguilon at half time, and Conte confirmed that he will not play again until after the international break.
‘Bad news about Ryan Sessegnon. He had a scan and a muscular problem. Maybe we’ll see him after the international break’, he told Football.London
It is a bitter blow for a Spurs side who will need to be firing on all cylinders to get a result on Saturday.
