Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Bruno Lage has confirmed that both Nelson Semedo and Pedro Neto will miss their Premier League game against Leeds United on Friday evening.

The midlands side welcome a struggling Leeds United as they look to bounce back from a disappointing February with a third win on the bounce. Leeds United, however, may be a tougher task than initially anticipated after new boss Jesse Marsch announced a double boost in the form of the returns of Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper.

And, Wolves will be without Semedo and Neto until after the International break, Lage revealed, which will come as a blow to the Molineux outfit.

Wolves in European dream?

Wolves currently sit in eighth place, two points outside the Europa League places and having played the same number of games as both West Ham and Manchester United.

However, they still have to travel to play Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as play a home tie against Manchester City in their final nine games. It will not be easy for Bruno Lage’s side to grab a place in the European competitions next season, especially if Manchester United and Tottenham continue to show signs of improvement however slight.

Asked if he was in a position to still challenge for a top 4 spot, Lage suggested that his side have to focus on their own game, rather than their position in the table.

‘It’s comfortable for us to be in this position but we can’t be comfortable not to work – we have to have confidence to continue the way we are working’, he told the media. ‘We need to challenge ourselves.’

They could yet be going around Europe come next season with some good results.
