The Everton faithful have flooded to social media on Sunday afternoon, to single one particular area of the club’s squad out for widespread criticism.

Frank Lampard’s troops of course marked their return to action a short time ago.

Buoyed by a timely return to winning ways in the Premier League last time out, the Toffees made the trip to Selhurst Park, hopeful of booking their spot in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Unfortunately for Lampard and co., however, when all was said and done in south London, it was Crystal Palace who kept their silverware hopes alive for the campaign, and in comprehensive fashion.

A dominant display on the part of the afternoon’s hosts ultimately culminated in a 4-0 final scoreline, owing to strikes on the part of all of Marc Guehi, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Wilfried Zaha and Will Hughes.

‘Absolute shambles’

Safe to say, those of an Everton persuasion hopeful of their side building some momentum on the back of a 1-0 downing of Newcastle last time out have, in turn, been brought firmly back down to earth.

It should therefore not come as a huge surprise to hear of such fans being up in arms across social media, livid with another frankly embarrassing display.

Despite essentially each and every member of Lampard’s ranks having struggled to make a positive impact on proceedings at Selhurst, though, it is one particular area of the club’s setup which, as alluded to above, has been singled out as not only the most pressing concern, but in fact ‘the worst’ in Everton’s history post-match:
