Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has had to leave the France squad on Tuesday, according to reports.

The information comes from RMC Sport with it reported that ‘N’Golo Kanté had to leave the Blues gathering for personal reasons. He will come back as soon as possible.’

No more information is available at this time but it is hopefully nothing too serious.

France’s international break

France are set to play out two matches during the March international break.

Les Bleus were able to finish top of their 2022 World Cup qualifying group, picking up five wins and three draws from eight outings to secure 18 points.

As a result, they do not have to take part in any of the World Cup play-off matches which will be going on over the next week.

So, Didier Deschamps’ side will instead only be participating in friendlies over the current break.

France will first take on Ivory Coast on Friday the 25th of March at the Stade Velodrome. They will then play host to South Africa on Tuesday the 29th of March at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

After a disappointing Euro 2020, France will no doubt be keen to get back to their best ahead of this year’s World Cup, which they are still likely to be one of the favourites for even after their implosion at Euro 2020, which saw them knocked out by Switzerland.
