Word stemming from the media on Monday points towards Liverpool’s pursuit of Fulham talent Fabio Carvalho taking a decisive step forward over the last 24 hours.

The name of teenage sensation Carvalho of course took its place front and centre in the headlines late in the January transfer window.

This came amid the efforts of the aforementioned Liverpool to land the English youth international, before immediately sending him back on loan to Craven Cottage for the remainder of the campaign.

And, at one point late on deadline day, it appeared as though the Reds had managed precisely that.

In a blow for Jurgen Klopp and co., however, it was later revealed that a deal between the respective boards in west London and Merseyside had in fact fallen through, owing to the required paperwork not being submitted in time:

But, as alluded to above, on Monday, a fresh update on the situation has been forthcoming.

And the news is of an altogether positive nature, for Klopp, Liverpool and Carvalho alike.

As per Football Insider, citing sources close to the situation, a basic agreement has been reached between the transfer team at Anfield and Fulham’s up-and-coming starlet.

This comes with Carvalho set to become a free agent upon the conclusion of the campaign:

”A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Liverpool have recommenced negotiations with Carvalho and have an ‘agreement in principle’ with him to join when he becomes a free agent at the end of June.”

Fulham starlet shining bright

The latest word surrounding Liverpool’s efforts to lure Carvalho to the club of course come with the Portuguese in the midst of a fine individual campaign.

Amid Fulham’s push for a swift return to the Premier League, which currently looks very much on track, the club’s gifted midfield talent, despite his tender years, has appeared in 29 outings across all competitions.

Not only that, but across these appearances, Carvalho has racked up a head-turning eight goals and six assists.
