Real Madrid are ready to table a hefty offer for Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney this summer, if reports are to be believed.

Los Blancos have struggled with full-backs recently, with both Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy spending time on the treatment table this season, while Marcelo, at 33 years old, is now well past his best.

This has led to interest in adding another full-back to their ranks, with Tierney reportedly catching the eye of Ancelotti, three years after he attempted to sign the Scot while in charge of Napoli, before he eventually opted for Arsenal.

As per news outlet the Sunday Post, the revival of interest was courtesy of actually sending chief scout Juni Calafat to compile a report on Bukayo Saka, when Tierney stole the limelight.

‘Ordered to complete a detailed analysis on Bukayo Saka, Calafat had his head turned by Tierney as he watched the Gunners put together a run of wins to close in on a Champions League place’, they claim.

Barcelona’s interest is also noted, and the report suggests that Real Madrid would be willing to part with as much as £50 million for the full-back, which would represent a doubling of the transfer fee that the Gunners shelled out to prise him away from Celtic in 2019.

Saka contract talks in the works

In better news for Arsenal fans, it appears as though a plan is in place to tie down Saka to a new long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium, with the England starlet reportedly ‘really happy with his Arsenal life’.

Whether that will prove enough to keep him in north London, or whether the Gunners will need to secure Champions League football to entice him to stay, remains to be seen.
