The advice Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has given to Pedri has been revealed.

After years of largely poor recruitment, losing Lionel Messi and ending up in a financial mess, Barcelona have been forced to look to youth to help revive their squad.

La Blaugrana have a number of promising young talents on their books at present, with the crown jewel most certainly Pedri.

The 19-year-old joined Barcelona in 2019 and, after spending a season back on loan with Las Palmas, has taken the Camp Nou by storm.

Pedri had a superb 2020/21 that ended with him being named as Euro 2020’s Young Player of the Tournament.

The teenager’s 2021/22 was then derailed by injury, but he has returned to action and is once again shining with Barca.

Xavi’s advice to Pedri

Despite his excellent performances of late, Xavi is still seemingly keen for Pedri to change up one aspect of his game.

As per reports coming from Spanish outlet Sport, Xavi has told Pedri that he needs to play with only one touch on a more regular basis:

‘Xavi is absolutely delighted with Pedri. However, the one piece of advice the manager has given the player, is to try to play with only one touch more often. Xavi considers that Pedri often takes too much touches with the ball.’
