Aston Villa have, on Saturday, been dealt an altogether untimely injury blow, during the club’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Steven Gerrard’s troops are of course currently locked in Premier League action at Molineux, in their first outing on the back of the international break.

Inside the opening quarter of an hour in the Midlands, however, the afternoon’s visitors saw their hopes of a three-point haul dented.

This came as Lucas Digne, for the 2nd game running, was forced into a premature departure, after pulling up with what appeared to be a muscular problem.

Veteran wide-man Ashley Young, in turn, was introduced in his place:

In truth, Digne’s latest fitness problem marks the least of Aston Villa’s concerns to this point in proceedings on Saturday afternoon, though.

This comes with the Claret and Blue also trailing by two goals to nil at Molineux.

The game’s scoring was opened with just seven minutes on the clock, when surprise goalscorer Jonny made it two goals in two games courtesy of a fine finish into the top corner.

And the hosts doubled their lead ten minutes prior to the interval, when Marcal’s whipped delivery from the left was nodded into his own net by none other than the man introduced in Digne’s place, Ashley Young.
