Manchester United legend Gary Neville has given a damming assessment of his side after their clash with Leicester City.

The Red Devils took on the Foxes in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off and put on another subpar display.

Leicester would take the lead in the game after 63 minutes before Fred brought United back on level terms three minutes later.

The game would finish 1-1 and, in the opinion of Gary Neville, Manchester United’s hopes of securing a Champions League spot are over:

“I think so,” Neville said when asked if United’s top-four prospects were over. “The run-in started today following the international break. They had to start it with a win but they didn’t get it. It was the way they drew the game – that was really bad out there today.

“Sometimes, teams can look a bit rusty when they come back but I thought the break would work for United as I thought it would be good for players to get away from the club and then come back and give it a right go.

“This is going to be a long two months for those United players and fans. It’s going to be difficult in their remaining eight matches if they continue in that vein of form. It was so flat.”

Can Manchester United finish 4th?

After drawing with Leicester, Manchester United remain 6th in the Premier League, level on points with 5th-place Tottenham who are set to play Newcastle later today.

In 4th, meanwhile, Arsenal are three points above Manchester United with two games in hand – one of which comes vs Crystal Palace on Monday.

Should Arsenal win that tie, it seems very unlikely that Manchester United will be able to catch the Gunners.
