Ex-Celtic captain Scott Brown was quick to take to social media on Sunday afternoon, to provide his response to the Bhoys’ derby day win over Rangers.

The latest edition of the Old Firm, one of world football’s most historic grudge matches, was of course played out earlier today.

Amid a hard-fought battle atop the Scottish Premiership table, Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic made the trip to Ibrox, aware that a victory would guide them a full six points clear of their Glaswegian neighbours at the division’s summit.

And, when all was said and done, emerge with all three points is precisely what the visitors managed.

A hard-fought 90 minutes ultimately played out into a 2-1 final scoreline, as Aaron Ramsey’s early strike for Rangers was cancelled out by Tom Rogic, before Cameron Carter-Vickers’ effort shortly before the interval rounded out the scoring, ensuring that Celtic emerged with the derby spoils on the day:

And, as alluded to above, one individual who was keen to soak up all the glory of a derby day triumph was former Celtic captain and club legend Scott Brown.

Taking to his official Instagram account on the back of the full-time whistle on Sunday, the one-time midfielder posted a message of celebration, reading:

‘Thanks lads enjoyed that one I did’, alongside a photo of his home setup for the clash:

Hart targeted

An otherwise pulsating, and largely fairly-contested affair in Glasgow this afternoon, unfortunately, however, was soured by one member, or potentially section of the home support inside Ibrox.

This came as the 2nd-half of action was delayed, owing to pieces of a smashed glass bottle being thrown in the direction of Celtic number one Joe Hart:
