Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the press on Friday ahead of Liverpool’s meeting with Manchester City.

Liverpool face a trip to the Etihad on Sunday afternoon in what is arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season to date.

Ahead of the clash, Klopp held his latest pre-match press conference on Friday morning, in which he discussed a number of topics, including Pep Guardiola.

The two managers have dominated the English game for many years now and are regarded as two of the best coaches of their time.

Klopp, though, is of the opinion that it is Pep who is the best coach in the world: “Pep is the best coach in the world and we all would agree on that.

“If anybody doubts him, I have no idea how that could happen.”

Klopp also provided a team news update on his side, indirectly confirming that Fabinho, who picked up a head wound during the Reds’ win over Benfica in midweek, is fine.

Manchester City vs Liverpool

The news Fabinho is fine will come as a big boost for Liverpool ahead of what is expected to be a season-defining game this weekend, even if Klopp does not believe it will be:

“I cannot decide what people think, but we can just go through the possible results.” Klopp said when asked if Sunday’s game is a tittle-decider:

“If we win we are two points ahead, we lose we’re four points behind. If it’s a draw, one point behind – that is it. Does anyone think that’s done and dusted? A very important game. I like it, if we were fourteen or fifteen points behind it will still be a good game. We’ve qualified for a good game with the season we’ve played so far.”

The Merseysiders take on Manchester City at the Etihad at 4:30 pm UK time. Should Liverpool win the game, they will go top of the Premier League with seven more game weeks left to play out.

If they lose, though, a four-point gap may be too hard for Jurgen Klopp and co. to overturn.
