Romelu Lukaku has, obviously, struggled for form since his return to Chelsea this past summer.

In fact, the Belgian has failed to register a single goal or assist across his last seven league outings for Chelsea, with his last two goals for the club coming in the FA Cup vs Championship opposition.

This has led to Kai Havertz becoming the Blues’ main central option, and to reports that Lukaku is unhappy.

Lukaku’s latest concerning display for Chelsea came in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Chelsea would beat Crystal Palace 2-0 and were already winning by the time Lukaku was brought on. However, fans will have still been worried that their record signing missed a huge chance that he really should have finished after being played in by Timo Werner.

Now, after Chelsea’s win over Crystal Palace, Joe Cole has stated that Lukaku has six weeks to save his Chelsea career:

“He’s got six weeks to save his Chelsea career if he wants it,” Cole said. “You look at Timo Werner who doesn’t give up and when he doesn’t score a goal he’s offering something else. With Lukaku he wants to be that focal point but he missed a chance and we were in the studio [saying] if it’s not going for you, it’s not going for you. “He gets it all wrong, opens his body up and hits the post. And he will be gutted for himself because he’s better than that.”

Where would Lukaku go?

Should Lukaku decide he does not want to continue at Chelsea, there are probably not too many top clubs that would be able to afford, and want, him right now.

Inter Milan would no doubt love him back, but it is hard to see them having the funds available.

Elsewhere, PSG seems like the obvious option as they have plenty of cash and may need a new forward if Kylian Mbappe departs in the summer.
