Premier League outfit West Ham United have made their first move to reinforce the club’s frontline ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, according to reports.

The subject of the depth, or lack thereof, possessed in David Moyes’ attacking ranks has of course proven a headline talking point at the London Stadium across the season to date.

This comes with the failure of the Hammers’ transfer team to secure reinforcements in either the summer or January having left Michail Antonio as the sole senior centre-forward option at the disposal of the club’s boss.

Ahead of what is likely to be another season in European competition next time out, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of West Ham setting their sights firmly on fresh blood up top ahead of the summer transfer window swinging open.

Not only that, but, if the latest word stemming from the European media is anything to go by, then one such target has already been approached.

As per a report from transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, the Irons have tabled a three-year contract offer to Torino hitman Andrea Belotti. This comes ahead of the expiration of the Italian international’s contract in the summer.

Belotti himself, however, is yet to provide his response, as he continues to weigh up his options ahead of next season.

Blues clash

Turning attentions back towards the immediate job at hand at West Ham, Moyes’ troops are primed to return to action this coming Sunday.

After being held to a disappointing 1-1 stalemate by relegation-battling Burnley last time out, the Irons are set to make the trip to Stamford Bridge, eyeing a swift return to winning ways at the expense of capital rivals Chelsea.

And the day’s visitors will no doubt be confident in their chances of precisely that, in the knowledge that, on the back of their 4-2 defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Wednesday, Chelsea have now been on the wrong end of the result in each of the club’s last three outings in west London.
