Thomas Tuchel has been speaking to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Chelsea’s next outing.

Chelsea will face off with West Ham on Sunday afternoon, kicking off at Stamford Bridge at 2 pm.

Ahead of the clash, Tuchel discussed a number of topics in his pre-match press conference, including injury news.

Both Mateo Kovacic and Antonio Rudiger picked up issues recently. And Tuchel has confirmed that the duo are not back for the weekend.

Tuchel also stated that there is no other news, meaning both Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi remain out. “For Sunday they [Kovacic and Rudiger] are not back. But no other new injuries.”

The German also suggested he does not feel secure in the top-four yet: “Feeling secure does not keep you on the edge, not fully alert. So I do not feel safe and nobody should in the Premier League.”

Chelsea vs West Ham

Chelsea head into the West Ham game on the back of a rather embarrassing defeat at the hands of Arsenal.

This was Chelsea’s second Premier League loss in three game weeks and though unlikely, there is now a small danger they could slip out of the top-four if their form does not improve.

The Blues are currently five points behind 5th, but do have a game in hand on both Tottenham and Arsenal.

As for West Ham, their small squad has seemingly cost them a shot at securing Europa League football next term.

The Hammers currently have a serious injury crisis at centre-back and their domestic form is evidence of this. David Moyes’ side have won just two of their last five league games, slipping down to 7th as a result.
