The names of a pair of Arsenal loanees have taken centre stage in the headlines across Europe over the course of the last 24 hours.

First up comes Hector Bellerin.

Right-back Bellerin was of course granted a temporary departure from north London last summer, returning to his home country with Real Betis for the 2021/22 campaign.

Upon moving on, the 27-year-old revealed that the motivation behind his Betis switch was a desire to secure silverware, making his eventual triumph on Saturday night all the sweeter.

After making the trip to the Estadio La Cartuja for the finale of the Copa del Rey, Bellerin and co. eventually emerged victorious courtesy of a nervy penalty shootout.

Not only that, but the Spaniard even managed to chip in with an assist for Betis’ only goal of the clash, capping a wonderful day all-round for the lifelong Verdiblancos supporter.

Mr. consistent

As alluded to above, though, Bellerin is not the only member of the Arsenal loan army to have piqued attentions across the continent this weekend.

The other? Matteo Guendouzi.

Midfielder Guendouzi is of course in the midst of a highly productive loan spell of his own at present, ahead of making his move to Olympique Marseille permanent upon the campaign’s conclusion.

The 23-year-old’s latest start in OM’s colours was forthcoming this evening, with Jorge Sampaoli’s men locked in Ligue 1 action with Reims.

And, in the process of featuring from the off in northern France, Guendouzi set a hugely impressive benchmark, as the first player across Europe’s top-5 leagues to make 50 appearances for his club across the season to date.
