Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota has taken to social media on Monday, to reveal his appreciation for a frankly remarkable statistic surrounding the production of one of Everton’s stars during the meeting between the two sides.

The latest edition of the Merseyside Derby was of course played out a little over 24 hours ago.

Hosts Liverpool, as expected, went on to dominate when it came to possession, racking up an eye-watering 83% of the possession across the 90 minutes.

And such efforts on the part of Jurgen Klopp’s troops, in turn, gave rise to an altogether bizarre stat coming to the fore post-match.

As revealed by a host of reliable sources, Everton midfielder Allan managed so string toegther a grand total of one (yes, ONE) completed pass across his 73 minutes on the pitch at Anfield on Sunday.

Not only that, but the pass in question came as the Brazilian was chosen to restart the game from kick-off.

And, as alluded to above, one individual who evidently garnered great enjoyment from the woes of Everton’s all-action midfielder comes in the form of Diogo Jota.

So much so, that, taking to his official Instagram account on Monday, Liverpool standout Jota opted to ‘like’ Sky Sports’ post highlighting Allan’s passing efforts in the derby:

Origi amongst the goals

Jota’s subtle dig at Allan of course comes after Liverpool secured yet another three-point haul at the expense of their city rivals on Sunday.

Amid a hard-fought affair, goals on the part of Andy Robertson and Divock Origi ultimately made the difference, en route to a 2-0 triumph for the evening’s hosts.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, as a result, remain 2nd in the Premier League table, just a point adrift of leaders Manchester City.
