Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has, on Friday, provided his take on suggestions that Los Blancos target Kylian Mbappe is set to stay put at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Links between French international Mbappe and La Liga heavyweights Real have of course been rampant for some time now.

This comes after the transfer team at the Bernabeu were left shocked in coming up short in a big-money bid to lure the explosive attacker to the Spanish capital last summer, despite Mbappe’s contract in Paris inching towards an imminent conclusion.

It therefore no doubt came as a major source of concern for all associated with Real when, earlier today, PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino suggested that Mbappe will be ‘100 percent staying’ at the Parc des Princes into next season.

Speaking in his own ensuing press conference, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, in turn, was drawn on the comments of his counterpart in the French capital.

And the Italian was not shy in hinting that Pochettino may well simply have been covering for his club, in confirming that ‘sometimes coaches don’t tell the truth…’

Strasbourg up next

Turning attentions back towards the pitch, Mbappe is expected to be afforded the latest opportunity to add to his 28-goal tally across the campaign to date later this evening.

This comes with PSG set to make the trip to the Stade de la Meinau, for a Ligue 1 meeting with Strasbourg.

It remains to be seen how strong an XI Mauricio Pochettino actually opts for, though, with the capital giants having wrapped up the French top-flight title courtesy of a 1-1 stalemate with Lens last weekend.
