Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has, on Sunday evening, provided fitness updates on three key members of his squad.

The Gunners were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip across London for a Premier League derby showdown with West Ham United.

Late in the action in the English capital, though, the concerns of the club’s supporters were piqued, upon not one, but two members of their side’s starting XI limping out of proceedings.

The players in question? Takehiro Tomiyasu and Bukayo Saka.

Speaking to the media in the immediate aftermath of the full-time whistle, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the wellbeing of both stars was put to Mikel Arteta.

And, in a boost for all associated with Arsenal, the club’s boss went on to reveal that he is not overly concerned when it comes to either Saka or Tomiyasu, the latter of whom simply struggled to see out the 90 minutes owing to a lengthy recent stretch on the sidelines.

Ben White, meanwhile, forced to sit out the action on Sunday with a hamstring problem, is set to be ‘assessed’ over the coming days.

Holding amongst the goals

Injury concerns aside, it of course proved an altogether positive evening’s work for Arsenal on Sunday.

This comes with the Gunners, owing to headers on the part of central defensive duo Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes, having ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline at the expense of West Ham.

Arteta and co, as a result, have climbed back clear of north London rivals into 4th in the Premier League table, with just four games to play.
