Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has, on Monday, secured his latest piece of individual silverware.

The prize in question? The club’s Player of the Month.

The news was made official a short time ago, as CR7 beat out competition from teammates David de Gea and Nemanja Matic, to cruise home atop the standings courtesy of a whopping 74% of the vote.

The month of April, all told, proved a difficult one from a Manchester United perspective. Six Premier League outings culminated in just a solitary three-point haul for Ralf Rangnick’s troops, and even that came courtesy of a hard-fought 3-2 downing of Championship-bound Norwich City.

Ronaldo, though, nevertheless continued to produce at an elite level, racking up five goals in just four appearances.

His latest Player of the Month award marks the 37-year-old’s 2nd-straight, and fourth across the 2021/22 campaign as a whole.

Turning attentions back towards the road ahead at United, Ronaldo will of course be hopeful of making the difference once more on Monday night, when the Red Devils return to action in a Premier League meeting with Brentford.

The hosts will line out at Old Trafford eyeing a first win in four, having secured just a solitary point from a trio of meetings with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea over the course of the last couple of weeks.

Ronaldo, as expected, has been included from the off as part of Ralf Rangnick’s latest starting XI, which can be seen in full below:
