Ben Davies has given an insight into Antonio Conte’s behaviour in the Tottenham dressing room following the draw with Liverpool.

Spurs headed into the game as the clear underdogs. However, the Lilywhites more than held their own against the Reds, claiming a well deserved point that could have easily turned into three.

But whilst the result in of itself was good, it actually dealt Tottenham a blow in their hunt for Champions League football.

And, after Arsenal beat Leeds on Sunday, Spurs are now four points off 4th with just three games left to play. So, even if Tottenham beat the Gunners in the north London derby on Thursday, they will still be one point off their bitter rivals.

Despite this, however, Ben Davies claimed that Conte was very calm post-Liverpool.

As per football.london, Davies said the Italian did not let the anxiety of the match and his emotion on the touchline seep into his exchanges with them in the dressing room afterwards.

“He was very calm, very calm. You can feel there’s pride there in how we played, how we stuck to the game plan but in the next few days we’ll analyse it in detail, see where we can improve and it’ll be on to the next one,” he said. “There’s no resting on good performances. We know we can get better.”

He added: “These are the kind of games we want to be involved in and show our best side in. It was a tough game, we were up against one of the best teams in the world right now and we’re satisfied with a point away from home.

“We played against two of the best teams in the world football [in Liverpool and Manchester City] and to be unbeaten is a good little achievement but the league position will show where we deserve to end up and who we pick up points against isn’t really a concern.”
