Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has been speaking out on the club’s decision to appoint Erik ten Hag as their new boss.

Ten Hag will take charge of Manchester United at the end of the current season and he has a rather large rebuilding job on his hands.

The Red Devils had, on paper, a great summer transfer window which was expected to see them kick on and challenge for the league title after finishing second last term.

However, United have since underwhelmed in every cup competition and may not even finish in the top-six this season.

One of the players United signed this past summer was Jadon Sancho. The winger had excelled with Borussia Dortmund over the last several campaigns, hitting double figures in both goals and assists.

But, to say the winger has underwhelmed since his switch back to Manchester would be putting it lightly.

Sancho has scored just three and provided just three assists in 29 Premier League games this term.

However, when speaking about Ten Hag’s appointment recently, Sancho looks to be eyeing a fresh start:

“To start again fresh, with a new manager coming in, we’re looking forward to seeing what his ideas and plans for the team are,” Sancho told Premier League Productions. “You only have to think positively.

“My career is only getting started and, hopefully, it will take off soon. This has been a difficult season, especially being a Manchester United player, with what the club has achieved over the years.

“United is known for winning trophies and being up there with the best. This season has been a difficult one for all of us, but I think we still have to show belief again.”
