The official Team of the Tournament for this season’s FA Cup has been unveiled on Monday evening.

And the XI, altogether unsurprisingly, is dominated by members of Jurgen Klopp’s star-studded Liverpool squad.

The Reds, of course, went all the way in this year’s FA Cup, downing Chelsea courtesy of a tense penalty shootout in the competition’s finale earlier this month.

And the voting for the Team of the Tournament certainly reflects as much, with no fewer than six Liverpool players having taken their place in the line-up, in the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, Fabinho, Takumi Minamino and January arrival Luis Diaz.

Fellow finalists Chelsea are next best represented with two inclusions, Thiago Silva and Mason Mount.

And rounding out the XI are a trio of stars from lower down the English football pyramid, namely Dimitar Mitov of Cambridge United, Wigan Athletic’s Callum Lang and Adam Boyes of Northern Premier League Division One East outfit Marske United.

Golden ball winner

For those not aware, hitman Boyes’ inclusion comes on the back of the little-known 31-year-old securing for himself the Golden Ball for this season’s FA Cup.

Remarkably, en route to Marske’s eventual exit from the competition at the hands of Gateshead, Boyes managed to find the net on a hefty 11 occasions.
