Newcastle United are interested in the services of Leeds United winger Jack Harrison, according to reports.

The Magpies appear keen to make a statement in their first summer transfer window with the richest owners in world football.

The North East outfit have already seen themselves linked with an Atletico Madrid defender this week.

And now they look to be eyeing a move for one of their close rival’s top stars. According to the Telegraph, Newcastle are interested in signing Leeds United’s Jack Harrison, but fear the Yorkshire club’s survival in the Premier League will make a deal difficult to complete.

The reason for this is that they will not be able to activate a relegation release clause in the Leeds player’s deal. However, that is unlikely to prevent the Magpies testing Leeds’ resolve to hold on to Harrison.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report, but Harrison is not expected to come cheap.

Leeds reject Raphinha offer

Elsewhere on the Leeds front, the Peacocks have rejected an offer of €55m from Barcelona for Raphinha, according to reports.

The Brazil international has helped to keep the Whites in the Premier League, but could be on the move this summer as interest in his services continues to build.

Should Raphinha indeed leave the club, you would imagine that it would make any potential deal for Harrison a lot harder to complete as Leeds will not want to lose two of their best players in just one summer transfer window.
