Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all thought to be stepping up their chase of Raheem Sterling as the Manchester City man moves into the last 12 months of his contract at the Etihad.

The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order in Manchester, and with the likely improvement of Jack Grealish this summer, along with the arrival of striker pair Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, it is unclear what his future holds.

He started neither of the semi-final legs against Real Madrid, and started just 23 times in their Premier League title win.

Chelsea are another club thought to be interested, but whether Manchester City would sell to an English rival is a different matter entirely.

Manchester City looking to strengthen elsewhere

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s side are not yet done in the transfer market themselves, with Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak telling the media that ‘there will be more players coming in this summer’.

Of those, two are expected to be a left-back and a central midfielder, with Marc Cucurella of Brighton and Leeds United general Kalvin Phillips two names atop their list.

On the other hand, more could depart too, with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko both linked with moves away along with Sterling.
