Football fans on social media have taken to platforms in their droves to protest a glaring absentee from the PFA men’s players’ player of the year shortlist.

The list was announced on Wednesday afternoon, and comprised players voted by their fellow professionals for their work across the season.

And, for the most part, it was household names that dominated it, with Cristiano Ronaldo joining Liverpool trio Virgil Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, title-winning midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham’s Harry Kane as those nominated for the award.

However, while none can be considered undeserving of their place on the list, there was one glaring absentee that fans were quick to elude to.

No Son…

The man in question was Heung-Min Son, who emerged from the season with a share of the golden boot along with Mo Salah, and whose strikes proved crucial in Tottenham’s hunt for Champions League football.

And, fans were quick to highlight how ludicrous his absence really was.
