Barcelona are working to close a deal for Clément Lenglet to join Tottenham on loan, according to esport3.

The defender has been informed by Xavi that he is not in his plans for next season.

Barca are now trying to secure him a move away from the club and are in talks with Spurs.

The Catalan club are in a pretty desperate state to free up funds in order to bring in new players.

Xavi has made it clear to the Barca board that players who are surplus to requirements.

Lenglet is the player who has been most receptive to accepting a move away.

The Frenchman has really struggled at Barcelona and made just seven starts in La Liga last season.

Spurs has now emerged as a potential destination for the 26-year-old.

Antonio Conte’s side are on the lookout for a new left-sided central defender.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s top target Alessandro Bastoni has made it clear that he wants to remain at Inter Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Conte has been pushing to sign him, but the defender is not that interested in a move to England.

For now, he has closed the door on a potential move to Spurs.
