An insight into the proposal understood to have been tabled by Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur for Middlesbrough talent Djed Spence has been provided on Sunday evening.

Speculation surrounding the future of defender Spence has of course been rampant over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes with the 21-year-old, fresh off helping Nottingham Forest back to the top-flight of English football courtesy of the Championship playoffs, piquing the interest of a whole host of clubs.

Forest, for their part, are unsurprisingly keen to make Spence’s arrival permanent, owing to his impressive exploits whilst on loan at the City Ground this past season.

This comes with the aforementioned Spurs understood to have stepped up their interest in Spence this weekend, courtesy of an opening offer for the talented young right-back.

As per a report from Jacque Talbot of The Times, The Guardian and more, the transfer team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have tested the resolve of their counterparts at Middlesbrough, with a bid worth a sum in the region of €20 million.

Spence, for his part, however, is yet to come to a definitive decision on his preferred next club.

This comes with the London native also giving serious consideration to a return to Nottingham with Forest, having struck up a deep emotional bond with both the club itself, and their adoring fanbase.
