Tottenham Hotspur remain hopeful of signing Alessandro Bastoni, according to Sky Sports.

Last week, the defender’s agent revealed that his client would definitely be staying at Inter Milan.

However, owing to Inter’s financial situation, Spurs’ hopes of landing the Italian remain alive.

Inter trying to avoid Bastoni sale

The Nerazzurri need to raise €60 million by the end of the month to balance the books.

In order to do so, Inter need to make a big sacrifice by selling one of their key players.

Tottenham still hope that player will be Bastoni as they look to capture of one Antonio Conte’s top targets.

However, Simone Inzaghi’s side would rather lose another one of their stars before looking to sell the 23-year-old.

Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij are two players who could be sold ahead of Bastoni.

Bastoni-Spurs or Skriniar-PSG

FCIN1908 report that Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio flew to London to discuss a potential deal with Spurs.

Meanwhile, PSG are also pressing hard for Skriniar and are willing to pay a lot of money to get him.

But first, the French club want to understand more about Skriniar’s injury which he recently sustained.

The Slovakian defender will be out of action for around 20 days.

In the meantime, if Tottenham were to present an offer of €55 million to €60 million, Inter would sell Bastoni.

PSG make Skriniar top target

However, PSG are going hard for Skriniar with L’Equipe reporting that Luis Campos has made the defender the club’s top target.

If the French champions were to match Inter’s demands for Skriniar then it is likely that he is the player they sacrifice.

The sale of the 27-year-old would then almost certainly end any hope of Bastoni joining Tottenham.
