Liverpool has completed their summer transfer program as Jürgen Klopp’s Reds have secured deals for talented attacking duo Darwin Núñez and Fabio Carvalho, and are set to keep faith in the squad as it stands moving into the 2022-23 Premier League season.

But the Merseyside outfit has already set its sights on next summer and the impending push to revamp the center of the park at Anfield and is expected to make a push for Borussia Dortmund and England international starlet Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham is one of the hottest young properties in world football currently after his star has risen high for the Bundesliga giants and is now one of the first names on the team sheet at Signal Iduna Park, and any deal that Liverpool could hope to secure would set the club back a fee reportedly in the region of £80million.

It is widely expected that the Reds will not be the only club in for his services twelve months from now, however, with at least two other European giants eyeing up the former Birmingham City academy graduate as a potential key piece of their own midfield reshuffle.

Both Premier League rivals Manchester United and Champions League winners Real Madrid are the two other clubs rumored to be preparing to clash over Bellingham, though Liverpool and United could certainly have a better hand at the poker table next summer.

Madrid already has a trio of young midfielders on the books in the vein of summer signing Aurélien Tchouaméni as well as Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde.

Liverpool and United will both likely face the need for long-term reinforcement in the middle of the park next summer, with the Reds currently relying on aging pair James Milner and Jordan Henderson, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not expected to persist much longer at the club.

As for the Red Devils, they have already lost Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matić this summer, while the jury is still out on the futures of Fred and Scott McTominay and whether or not they will fit the bill under new boss Erik ten Hag.

With their rivalry already one of the key ingredients to the Premier League landscape year on year, a transfer clash between the two biggest clubs in England for one of the nation’s brightest stars could make for an entertaining spectacle in 2023.
