Talks remain on between Arsenal and Youri Tielemans despite reports to the contrary, with the Gunners instead prioritising other positions over the Belgian at this point in the transfer window.

Following the arrival of Fabio Vieira at the Emirates Stadium in a deal out of the blue, doubt was cast over a potential move for the Leicester City midfielder, with several reports claiming that Arsenal had ‘cooled’ their interest in the 25 year old.

However, that is not thought to be the case, with the generally reliable Fabrizio Romano reporting that the deal is still on, but that right now it is not a priority.

‘Talks are still on, but they are not at the key stages yet because the club is focused on Gabriel Jesus as a priority and is trying to compete for Raphinha, two deals on which you need to be quick’, he claims.

With seemingly no competition for the signing of the Belgian midfielder, it seems as though the Gunners can afford to wait on the deal while they beat out competition for their other targets.

Jesus and Raphinha latest

Arsenal are expected, bar any late changes, to complete the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City this month, with Tottenham having pulled out of the race to sign him and Chelsea seemingly not showing as much interest as initially anticipated.

The Gunners have also seen a bid for Raphinha turned down, in a deal which they are expected to face more competition for. Both Tottenham and Chelsea have made their interest known, while Barcelona also wait in the wings, though whether they can afford him is another matter.
