Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is ‘pushing’ for Raheem Sterling to join the club from Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side open to negotiations for the English winger.

The Cityzens have already lost Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal this summer, and 27-year-old Sterling is expected to follow his teammate out of the door, with just 12 months left on his current deal in Manchester.

Chelsea have already seen one bid rejected for the winger, but are expected to return to the negotiating table this week with an improved offer in hope that Manchester City will come down from their £55m valuation of the winger.

And, with Thomas Tuchel now almost in sole charge of transfers at Stamford Bridge this summer, it seems as though Sterling is a deal that the Blues are going to heavily pursue this summer.

Chelsea to pursue another forward?

With Romelu Lukaku leaving the club this summer on loan, Chelsea need to strengthen in attack and will likely be looking to bring in more than just Raheem Sterling to bolster their frontline.

The future of Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele remains unclear, but it seems as though Tuchel’s interest in his former player has cooled since the beginning of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, the Blues remain in contention for Richarlison, who is also a target for London rivals Tottenham this summer.
