Manchester United is looking to hijack Lyon’s deal for Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia, with De club aan de Maas director Frank Arnesen confirming that an agreement with United has been reached for the Dutch international.

The club was linked with Malacia upon Erik ten Hag’s arrival in May, but speculation quickly died out as it appeared apparent that the powers at be at Old Trafford were instead focusing on deals for Frenkie de Jong, Antony, and Jurrien Timber.

This left Malacia subject to interest from other clubs, with French side Lyon thought to have secured his signature, only for Manchester United to return at the eleventh hour to reignite their interest in the 22-year-old.
